Their extensive investment in research and technology has made them world leaders in air-conditioning technology. Daikin became the first company to succeed in applying R32 to air conditioners. R32 has a 66% lower ‘Global Warming Potential Factor’ than other refrigerants. This makes it the refrigerant with the least global warming potential. Daikin has also provided free access to its 93 patents to support air conditioning manufacturers to transition to R32.

Besides looking out for the environment this way, they are also supporters of the ‘Forests for the Air,’ conserving forests covering about 11 million hectares in seven locations around the world. This project not only support reforestation, but also supports local communities.
