TCK Solar has partnered with Simply Energy to offer you the opportunity to be part of a Virtual Power Plant (VPP).

What is a Virtual Power Plant?

A VPP is a network of solar power and batteries that are installed at people’s homes and businesses. The VPP operator coordinates the network via a software system that taps into stored energy during peak demand times on the grid. During times when your solar system generates more than you can use, the VPP stores this excess energy in your battery, for you to use in the evening when the sun goes down. The priority is always to ensure you have enough stored energy in your battery to meet your needs. When the grid is under stress, the VPP will share the stored excess energy with your local community and you benefit from monthly VPP community credits to your account. These smarter, more sustainable energy solutions mean you’ll also be helping take care of your community and environment by supporting the grid.

This is how this VPP is good for you!

Have a look at the table below and you can see that you can get an upfront credit of $2,000 for a new Powerwall, and $50 annually for five years, helping your ROI, especially, if you can also get the battery rebate from Solar Victoria (eligibility criteria apply).

Am I eligible?

In order to be eligible you need to be a resident in Victoria and have a Tesla Powerwall 2 installed at your premises or are going to install one. You also need to have a smart meter. If you do not have one, you need to agree to have one installed. Lastly, you need to have a continuous and reliable internet connection.
