WORKING WITH US — the nitty-gritty
In Nearmap we can roughly estimate the amount of solar panels that will fit your roof.

Possible Layout of Solar System on the Roof

Accompanying your quote is your panel layout created by a service called Nearmap, where we are able to get a very accurate idea on the dimensions, orientation and pitch of your roof. Based on this, we have estimated how many solar panels we can fit and where to locate them. Until the day of the installation this cannot be 100% guaranteed as sometimes unforeseen things like pipes, aerials, or shading, etc. makes it advisable to shift the panels around. Our installers will discuss this on the day with you as they have the safety gear to access your roof. Even during a site visit it is sometimes not possible due to OHS reasons to take a detailed measurement of your available roof area.

Site Visit

Our service includes a free site visit, Monday to Friday within 50km of Melbourne GPO (a consultation fee may apply to site visits outside of this zone or times). A site visit includes the presentation of our products and a discussion about the different options available, assessing panel & inverter location, reviewing shading impacts, ensuring the switchboard is suitable as well as a quick energy audit on your place. To book a site visit, get in touch with us.

Workmanship and Safety

Workmanship and additional components are backed by our five-year products and workmanship warranty. Every DC-connection we protect in a UV-resistant HD conduit has a 25-year UV-guarantee for additional safety and durability, 6 sq mm solar cabling ensuring minimal cable losses (our cable losses are less than 1%).

Even the original MC4-plugs in our installations are known for their solid connection with minimal losses. And for your added safety, the array has its own isolator on the roof under a special aluminium sun cover, and safety switches installed on either side (DC and AC) of the inverter.

Enphase microinverter convert DC power into AC energy at panel level, making it ultimately safer not only for our installers, but also for your roof.

Switchboard

When installing a solar system, regulations require an up-to-date switchboard. If there are items which are not compliant, the electrical inspector will not pass the job and therefore not supply us with the Certificate of Electrical Safety (CES).

During the site visit we can give you an indication whether we think that a switchboard alteration/upgrade is required but we cannot guarantee this. On the morning of the installation our licensed electrician will inform you if any alterations are required (if you have doubts, we can take photos and send them to our electrician, or you can consult an electrician of your choice). These alterations/switchboard upgrades are at your expense and can either be done by our electrician on the day of the solar installation at a discounted rate or an electrician of your choice. If slab heating or electric hot water systems exist on site it is likely that additional timer switches and further alterations to the switchboard are required.

Monitoring

All of our systems can be easily monitored through apps that are available for Android, as well as IOS, or via their respective websites. Solaredge lets you monitor each panel via its optimisers. Enphase microinverters communicate their gains as well as consumptions via the Enphase Envoy to their app. Tesla batteries let you monitor your system’s performance, as well as energy storage, energy use, and how much gets put into or pulled out of the grid.

You do not have to keep an eye on your system at all times though, as we are doing it. We will monitor your system and will get in touch with you, if we find a fault or are noticing any inconsistencies that should not occur. We got you covered.
